Yeah, you’re right, JKR definitely put more work into the predominantly white schools (Hogwarts, Ilvermorny, Beaubaton, Durmstrang) vs the schools in countries and, in Uagadou’s case, continents that are filled predominantly with POC. JKR needs to hire a great screenwriter and get to it. I thought Black Panther was pretty cool and pretty well done but THIS?! This might be even better.

I want a movie saga (or television series) of this NOW! This is arguably the coolest wizarding school of all of them.Ī bunch of black students doing magic with their hands, and turning into animals at will. I randomly started researching wizarding schools around the world in the Harry Potter universe and came across the longest running school in Africa - Uganda to be exact: Uagadou.

They do magic without wands - they either point their fingers or using hand gestures (they can use wands, they just prefer not to) a wave of the hand and someone’s chin could fall off (actual example by JKR).

all of them can turn into elephants and cheetahs and peacocks or whatever (one of the hardest skills in the HP series)

ALL of the students are trained to be animagi!! - not just a “chosen one” or a couple of hard-working overachievers.

Instead of owl letters, students are invited to the Wizarding School of Uagadou (wag-a-doo) in their dreams via a “Dream Messenger” who leaves them an inscribed stone.
